Analysis of Trouble of Duct Grooving Machine and Removal Method

I.No turning (no sound)

Causes: 1. Breaking of power cord; 2. Damage of power switch; 3. Damage of carbon body of brush.

Exclusion methods: 1. Inspection and replacement of power cord; 2. Inspection and replacement of power switch; 3. Inspection and replacement of brushes.

II.No turning (there is the sound)

Causes: 1, gear damage; 2, bearing damage; 3, stator loosening; 4, rotor fault; 5, stator fault; 6, bad brush contact.

Exclusion methods: 1. Inspection and replacement of gears; 2. Inspection and replacement of bearings; 3. Tightening of fixed bolts of fixer assembly; 4. Inspection and replacement of rotors; 5. Inspection and replacement of stators; 6. Inspection and replacement of brushes.

III.Large vibration of the whole machine

Causes: 1. Deformation of two diamond cutting wheels; 2. Wear of splint and distance ring; 3. Damage of bearing of output shaft.

Exclusion methods: 1. Replace the same diamond cutting wheel; 2. Replace splint and distance ring; 3. Replace bearing.

IV. Motor Overheating

Causes: 1. Overload; 2. Diamond cutting wheel is too blunt; 3. Two diamond cutting wheels are not parallel; 4. Stator and rotor sweep chamber.

Exclusion methods: 1. Reducing cutting speed and depth; 2. Replacing high quality pipe cutters; 3. Re-assembly; 4. Replacing bearings or re-assembly.
