Treatment of plate thickness


The size of ventilation duct and fittings is marked, and the outer size is calculated for rectangular duct, while the outer diameter size is calculated for circular duct. The ventilation duct is made of thin steel plate, galvanized steel plate, aluminum plate, stainless steel plate, with a thickness generally ranging from 0.5-2mm. The size has little influence on the unfolding, so it can be ignored during unfolding. However, for thick-walled ducts and components with special requirements, when the wall thickness is greater than 2mm, the influence of the wall thickness should be considered. For the unfolding and cutting of circular ducts, the diameter should be calculated based on the median, outer diameter minus wall thickness, or inner diameter plus wall thickness. For rectangular ducts, it is still calculated based on the outer size of the duct.


Unfolding allowance


The key point in unfolding is to make a good bite and reserve allowance for the assembly flange. When unfolding and cutting thin plate ducts, fittings, and components, the connection method of thin plate and whether the air nozzle, fittings, and components are equipped with flanges should be considered, so as to leave a certain margin during unfolding.


What should be done if the bending angle of spiral duct machine and elbow angle are not accurate?

The rectangular duct has two opposite surfaces that are not parallel; the folding angle is uneven; the slope is uneven; and the bite is not tight.


The force on the duct connection is uneven, the duct is not smooth after installation, the flange gasket is not tight, and the air conditioning load loss and shortened service life are caused by air leakage.


The cutting layout of the plate is inaccurate, and the duct is parallel to the duct, and the length and width of the plate are not equal.


Measures: When unfolding and cutting with spiral duct machine, the plate should be strictly angled, and the length, width, and diagonal of each piece of plate should be checked to control the deviation within the allowed range. After cutting, the two plates in the opposite direction of the duct should accurately overlap.
